Communications W/C 8th September

Dear parent/carer,

As the first week of the academic year draws to a close, I’d like to extend my thanks to all our families. It’s been a privilege to see how well our students have settled back into school life.

It has been wonderful visiting so many lessons this week and witnessing how quickly they’ve re-established the positive learning habits from last year. Their embodiment of our Minster Way approaches to behaviour and culture has been particularly impressive. This is a testament to the excellent preparation work you’ve done at home, and for that, I am incredibly grateful for your support.

As in previous years, we’ll be sending a weekly digest of key information to all our families. The first of this academic year’s digest is outlined below.

School photographs

Please be advised that individual school photographs for all Year 7 and Year 12 students will be taken on Wednesday, 10th September.

A few weeks after this date, students will be provided with photo proofs to bring home. Parents/ carers who wish to purchase photographs may do so by placing an order directly with the photography company, Kittle. All necessary information for ordering will be supplied with the proofs. Year 11 school photographs will take place on Tuesday 30th September.

Year 7 Chromebook Collection

A reminder to all year 7 families that the chromebook collection will take place on Thursday 25th September. A letter detailing the evening will be shared in due course.

Restaurant Menu

Please click here to view our restaurant’s menu for Module 1. Students can begin purchasing food from the restaurant from Wednesday 3rd September.

Wake Up Wednesday

There will be a weekly E safety guide sent out on a Wednesday titled “Wake up Wednesday”. This guide will provide parents and carers with a range of information regarding how they can support their young people in relation to their online safety. The weekly updates will provide education on potential new apps and websites that young people may be using in order for you to better understand them and the potential risks associated with these.

Travelmasters- Live updates

Travelmasters have set up a WhatsApp channel that will be fast and effective to communicate to followers of that group of any updates to any of the bus services that run across Swale. Both parents/ carers and students are able to join this channel.
