Communications w/c 29th September 2025

Dear parent/carer,

As we reach the midpoint of the current module, it’s wonderful to see the excellent progress our students continue to make across all subjects. Our sporting fixtures have now begun, with students representing the Academy with outstanding contributions, notably in the  recent Leigh Academies Trust Netball competitions, where their hard work and teamwork was a credit to the academy. This summary letter provides you with a range of important updates and events to look forward to in the coming weeks, and we thank you for your continued positive feedback on this approach. If there are any questions that arise from the information below then please contact your child’s college:

Mock Examinations for Year 11 and 13

Mock examinations for students in Year 11 and Year 13 are scheduled to take place from November 17th to November 28th. Additionally, Year 11 students enrolled in vocational subjects will have a dedicated practical mock week beginning on December 1st.

We ask for your support in ensuring your child’s full attendance during this crucial period. It’s essential that students are present for all exams so teachers can accurately determine their current progress and identify areas needing improvement. This data is vital as it allows staff to tailor future lesson plans to best support your child’s learning and help them achieve their academic goals.

School photographs

Please be advised that individual school photographs for all Year 11 and Year 12 students will be taken on Tuesday 30th September.

A few weeks after this date, students will be provided with photo proofs to bring home. Parents/ carers who wish to purchase photographs may do so by placing an order directly with the photography company, Kittle. All necessary information for ordering will be supplied with the proofs.

Year 7 Chromebooks

All students now have their Chromebooks following the parent information evening last night. Linked here is a presentation we have made to help you support your child with using these. Videos are embedded to explain the information and demo how to use the device.
