Leigh Academy Minster is launching ‘Wake Up Wednesday,’ a weekly e-safety campaign to help families navigate the ever-evolving digital world.
The campaign is an initiative from National Online Safety, a UK-based organisation dedicated to protecting young people online. Each Wednesday during term time, the Academy will send families a free guide via email and MyChildAtSchool (MCAS).
These guides are designed to equip parents and carers with the knowledge they need to keep children safe online. They cover a wide range of topics, from specific apps and games to broader digital risks such as cyberbullying, fake news, and online predators.
“The purpose of these guides is to both educate families and support young people’s emotional and mental well-being,” said a spokesperson for the Academy. “We believe that by working together, we can provide a safer online environment for our students.”
We encourage all families to engage with these resources and use them as a starting point for conversations about online safety at home.
