Dear parent/ carer,
Year 11 Progress report
Please find a summary report for your child shared through My Child at School (MCAS). This is your child’s first academic report of this year and details the results of the mock examinations they have undertaken to date. The report also provides you with a range of information regarding your child with the key information below explained below:
The information below provides a guide to the report and what it contains, to help you and your child to discuss it together:
● Mock grade – this is the grade that your child is currently achieving based on the recent November mock examinations.
● Forecast grade – the grade likely to be achieved at the end of the course as a result of the teacher’s professional judgement.
● Commitment to Learning grade – a crucial element of success at school is that all students should possess self-motivation and positive learning attitudes to aspire to be the best they can possibly be. A guide to understanding the commitment to learning scores follows the report.
● Reward points – this reflects the praise your child has received for their positive engagement and attitude towards their learning.
● Negative behaviour points – this reflects the number of negative behaviour points your child has received where their engagement and attitude have fallen short of the required standards.
● Attendance and punctuality – we define good attendance as being 96% or higher. We know that students with this level of attendance achieve better progress in qualifications.
Supporting Students with their Progress Reports – How to make the most of the report
We would advise you to discuss the information within the report with your child so that they can reflect on their recent performance and make evidence informed choices on ways they can continue to progress and develop.
Should you have any queries or wish to discuss your child’s report further, please contact your child’s college.
Yours faithfully
Mr. M. Stevens
