Leigh Academy Minster is pleased to announce that its site will host an expansion of the Snowfields Campus for sixty students from the beginning of the 2024-25 academic year.
Mathieu Stevens, Principal Designate, commented:
I am thrilled that Leigh Academy Minster’s fantastic site has been chosen to support the expansion of this truly outstanding academy. Leigh Academy Minster and Snowfields staff and students will benefit from this partnership, with a range of opportunities for collaboration, sharing of best practices, and supporting each other.
Leigh Academy Minster will open to all Isle of Sheppey students from September 2024, with all new and existing families welcome to attend an Open Day on Saturday 24th February from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Minster site.
Leigh Academies Trust commented:
We are delighted that KCC is supporting Snowfields Academy to open a new campus at Minster (Isle of Sheppey) for up to sixty pupils in Years 7-11 with an EHCP for primary need type autism. The campus is due to open in September 2025 in newly refurbished, separate and bespoke facilities. We will be sending out more details when we are in a position to do so.
Snowfields Academy is part of Leigh Academies Trust and was judged Outstanding by Ofsted in 2023 in all areas. It already operates two campuses in Bearsted and Cranbrook. This expansion would enable more secondary-age pupils with an EHCP for autism to benefit from the excellent education it provides, especially those who live on or near to the Isle of Sheppey.
