Dear parent/ carer,
We are delighted that your child has had such a fantastic first day today, and it has been a privilege to see so many of them working hard in lessons. Throughout the summer we have looked to provide all families with a range of key information to support their child’s successful transition, with this letter detailing items for you to review following your child’s successful first day with us.
My Child at School (MCAS)
All parents/ carers with PR responsibilities were sent an email today with their log in details; username and password. Please check your junk/ spam folder for this information.
MCAS allows you as a parent to view the following information about your child:
- Announcements and direct messages
- Assessments
- Classes
- Timetable
It is crucial that all parents/ carers activate their account as this is the main way the academy corresponds home.
How to log in:
- To login to the MCAS Parent Portal you must use the valid email address you have registered with the Academy and an Invitation Code and School ID (15225).
- From your web browser (internet search bar) please type: https://www.mychildatschool.com/MCAS/MCSParentLogin this will open the login page.
- Click on Redeem Invitation Code?
- On the next screen enter your School ID (15225), Username and the Invitation Code. Tick the ‘I am not a Robot’ box and click on the Redeem Code button.
If you did not receive this email, then please contact your child’s college so we can look into this further for you. We will respond to families who have any issues over the next week.
MCAS is a web or smartphone application and can be downloaded from your App store, with this parent guide supplied to support you with downloading and signing up to this system.
Travel to and from the academy
Tomorrow we welcome back the rest of the other year groups to the academy so please be aware that roads and buses may be busier than usual. Please ensure you allow yourself sufficient extra travel time to arrive on time. As families would have noted today, the academy is serviced by a number of buses. It is therefore important that no parents/carers park in the designated bus areas.
Timetables
All students were issued with their timetable for the academic year. They will have the same timetable every week throughout Year 7.
Uniform and equipment expectations
All children are required to attend in full academy uniform. Students are required to bring their PE kit on the day in which they have PE, with this detailed on the timetable they received today. For more information on our academy uniform expectations please click here.
ParentPay
All students will receive a paper copy of their login details for ParentPay tomorrow. Accounts have been created for parents/ carers who are listed as priority 1 contacts. If you require an additional account to be created for another parent/carer to access, then please contact the academy and we can set this up.
It is vital that all parents/carers activate their ParentPay account as not only is this used for the academy restaurant, but for any future school trips.
