Leigh Academy Minster – Year 7 Chromebook Collection and Academy Tour Event
I am delighted to invite you to our Year 7 Chromebook Collection and Academy Tour event on Monday 16th September 2024 from 5:00pm – 6:30pm. Further details on what to expect during the event can be found below:
Academy Tour and Principal’s Presentation (5:00pm – 5:45pm)
This summer Leigh Academy Minster has benefitted from a multi-million pound investment programme, with the academy unrecognisable from the previous year. As a parent/carer of a student at Leigh Academy Minster we would like to provide you with the opportunity to tour your child’s fantastic new facilities and hear about how we will utilise them to provide your child with the best educational experience possible. Families will also be able to sample some of the food their child will be eating at our high-quality academy restaurant to give you a comprehensive understanding of their daily life at the academy.
Chromebook Collection (5:45pm onwards)
Leigh Academy Minster is committed to delivering a comprehensive digital strategy to all students with a loaned electronic device to support their academic progress. This programme is in partnership with Leigh Academies Trust and will enable your child to access a suite of high quality home learning resources that complement their classwork.
Parents/Carers are required to complete a LAT Loan Agreement form to receive their child’s device. This form will be given to you when signing into the event. The device will be provided with a charger.
To ensure we are able to deliver the electronic devices to students safely and all relevant paperwork is completed, a parent or carer is required to collect their child’s device. The devices provided to students are loan devices, but must be returned at the end of their studies here at the academy.
Due to the anticipated numbers at each event we ask that parents not bring child(ren) to this event, including LAM students.
Due to the volume of chromebooks for us to distribute and as chromebooks are already allocated to students, these can only be collected on their specific year group evenings.
