Targeted Period 6 Sessions – Practical and Vocational Subjects
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting your child’s success, we are introducing targeted Period 6 sessions beginning in Week 5 of Module 1 (Monday 29th September). These sessions will run every week from 3:15pm – 4:10pm.
For Module 1 and Module 2, the sessions are specifically designed for students studying practical and vocational subjects. The purpose of these additional lessons is to ensure that all internal coursework components are completed to the highest possible standard and submitted ahead of key deadlines:
- October – Component 1 deadline
- January – Component 2 deadline
It is important to stress that coursework makes up a significant proportion (60%) of your child’s overall grade. Achieving well in these components will make a decisive difference to their final result. To support this, your child has been issued with an updated timetable to reflect the sessions they must attend. We are therefore expecting full attendance from all students who have been targeted for these sessions. By attending, your child will:
- Receive focused support from subject staff.
- Have dedicated time to improve and complete coursework.
- Gain the best possible chance of securing a strong overall grade.
We firmly believe that with consistent attendance and engagement, your child can achieve excellent outcomes. These sessions are not optional; they are a vital part of your child’s learning journey. We know that with your support in ensuring attendance, your child will place themselves in the strongest position for success.
