Dear parent/ carer,
Year 11 Mock Examinations- Monday 2nd March to Friday 6th March 2026
Students in Year 11 will sit a second series of mock examinations over a week commencing on the 2nd March 2026. This will give students a second opportunity to practise sitting examinations and apply their learning to past questions. The feedback that students will receive from these papers will be invaluable in helping them prepare for their final examinations starting in May 2026.
The mock examinations will take place in the academy’s sports hall and will follow the Joint Council of Qualifications (JCQ) standards and conditions. Students will sit papers in the subjects they will take this summer, with each paper designed to assess the knowledge and skills taught during this academic year. Students will be provided with their examination results at the end of this module, and a copy will be sent to parents/ carers electronically for your reference.
We would like to remind you that students should not be taken out of the academy for any reason during exam periods. Medical or dental appointments should not be made during this time as exams cannot be rescheduled or taken at another time to suit the student. These arrangements are exactly as they would be for a public exam such as a GCSE or A Level. Should you have any further questions or require clarification on any of the details in this letter please contact your child’s college.
As part of our ongoing support for Year 11 students during the upcoming mock examinations, we are pleased to offer Revision Breakfast Sessions each morning before exams. These sessions are designed to provide students with last-minute advice, guidance and reassurance on how best to approach their morning exam. Details of the sessions are as follows:
Time: 7:45am – 8:20am (Free breakfast will be available)
Venue: Restaurant
Students are encouraged to arrive promptly so that they can enjoy breakfast before the session begins. Subject teachers will lead focused discussions to reinforce key exam strategies and build confidence ahead of each paper.
Please note that these sessions are designed to complement students’ independent revision at home, not replace it. They are an excellent opportunity to consolidate learning, clarify any final questions and begin the exam day in a calm and prepared frame of mind.
