We are delighted to announce the successful launch of the Module 3 Spelling Bee, which officially commenced across the academy last week. This competition forms a key part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing literacy and vocabulary standards across all year groups.
Round One: Initial Heats
During dedicated tutor time sessions, all students participated in the first round of the competition. The preliminary heats required students to demonstrate precision, focus, and a high level of linguistic skill as they vied for a place in the next stage of the tournament. It was encouraging to see students across the academy engaging so positively with the challenge.
The Grand Final
Following these rigorous initial rounds, the top two students from each tutor group have been selected to represent their peers in the upcoming Grand Final. These finalists will compete to be crowned the Year Group Winner, showcasing the very best of Leigh Academy Minster’s academic talent.
The Race for the College Title
Beyond individual achievement, this competition serves as a significant opportunity for students to earn points for their respective Colleges. The event has already fostered a keen sense of community and healthy rivalry as students work together to elevate their College’s standing.
As we move toward the final stage of the competition, we eagerly anticipate discovering which College will secure the prestigious title of “Spelling Bee Champion” for 2026.
