Leigh Academy Minster is celebrating record Year 11 outcomes this year, with strong improvements across all subject areas, reflecting the hard work, determination and resilience of our students, alongside the dedication of our staff and the continued support of families and the wider academy community.
Our students have demonstrated strong progress across their GCSE and vocational qualifications, with improvements in the proportions achieving the highest grades, as well as those securing grades 9-4 and 9-5. Vocational outcomes have also strengthened, with an increase in students achieving Level 2 Merit and Distinction grades.
Top grades have been achieved across the curriculum, with particularly strong performances in subjects including English literature, statistics, hospitality and catering and sport alongside continued improvement across all other subject areas.
Principal Mathieu Stevens said:
“Today provides an important opportunity to recognise and celebrate the record achievements of our Year 11 students. As Leigh Academy Minster concludes its first two years, we are particularly proud to see our first cohort of students complete a full LAM Key Stage 4 curriculum and achieve such positive outcomes.
Their work over the last two years, despite the many barriers they have faced in their educational journey to date, has been exemplary. Most importantly, the results they have achieved today ensure that all students can go on to their chosen destinations, many who are returning to us next year. We wish them every success as they progress to the next stage of their education and future careers.”
